"Kaspersky Lab" and ORT have signed a cooperation agreement

April 3, 2012 "Kaspersky Lab" and ORT have signed an agreement on cooperation in the development of information security and the promotion of knowledge in this field.

Under the agreement, the partners plan to carry out joint development and implementation of training courses for students and teachers to various aspects of information security.
A prerequisite for signing the agreement was previous experience of successful cooperation of "Kaspersky Lab" and ORT in a number of projects.

Recent years, as part of "Kaspersky Lab" educational initiatives at the Moscow ORT Technology School Anti-virus Security Days are repeatedly conducted. There were the leaders of Kaspersky Antivirus School, who spoke with senior grades students about Anti-virus School and discussed set of complex issues related to the information security.

In November 2011 partners extended the frames of cooperation and in order to raise the level of information culture and the development of the creative potential of the younger generation initiated a poster competition "Ecology of the Information Environment" among students of secondary schools and vocational training schools. The competition attracted over 60 students aged 11 to 18 years of the 5 countries of the former Soviet Union. Six winners from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tallinn have been awarded with certificates, prizes and gifts from "Kaspersky Lab".

In December 2011, after summing up the contest’s results "Kaspersky Lab" experts organized for Moscow winners and students a tour to Central Office. At the beginning the students were welcomed by the Director General of "Kaspersky Lab" Eugene Kaspersky then Kaspersky Lab Head of Educational Programs Veniamin Ginodman and Manager of Education Programs Grigory Smirnov showed students Central Office, told about the work of its staff and answered numerous questions.

In anticipation of school holidays, March 23, 2012 at Moscow ORT Technology School (Gymnasium #1540) meeting of students with "Kaspersky Lab" Director General Eugene Kaspersky. School Assembly Hall could hardly held all who wanting to listen a lecture on information security from the founder of one of the most famous of Russian companies and a world-class expert in the field of anti-viruses protection. After the lecture nearly half an hour Eugene Kaspersky has answering listeners’ questions.

A graduate of the Moscow ORT Technology School Sonja Moiseeva, who was at the meeting, so describes her impressions: "Wanting simply to contact Eugene children asked questions, which sometimes did not have an exact answer, or vice versa, required hours for full disclosure of the subject. "And how antivirus works? And when and under what circumstances the idea of the anti-virus laboratory creating came?" Catching audience’s attention easily, thanks to his oratory, Eugene Kaspersky, even after his lecture, could not easily get out of the audience - he was literally surrounded by enthusiastic students who want to get an autograph the form of a cartoon character, or even take a photo."

Eugene Kaspersky has also commented on a meeting with the students: "Our Company gives great importance to working with educational institutions. At the same time, communicate with the young audience has always been interesting for me personally and useful in its own way. That is why I gladly accepted the invitation to deliver a lecture. And these meetings allow students not only learn how to protect themselves against the risks of the web, but also to help some of them to think on their future profession."

In parallel with the organization of meetings and competitions, partners - ORT and "Kaspersky Lab" launched a new project to create methodological developments in the field of information security: intense course for school teachers and education modules for students.

Just a week before the official signing of the agreement, March 27-28, 2012, at the "ORT-Career" Centre in Yekaterinburg a pilot seminar on "Course on security with Kaspersky Lab" was conducted. The seminar was provided by Anatoly Viklov, Educational Programs Manager at

In addition to theoretical knowledge participants considered actual "cases" and heard first-hand story about the everyday life of a leading anti-virus company. At the conclusion of the workshop teachers discussed the methodological problems of teaching this subject to students and school teachers and have expressed developers several wishes regarding further improvement of training materials for such courses.

As the ORT Russia Director Sergey Gorinskiy pointed out: "The problem of information security in schools is still neglected. We are pleased that by working with a recognized world leader in this area - "Kaspersky Lab", our students’ and teachers’ journey to the world of the Internet will be not only exciting and informative but, as possible, secure. "

Kaspersky Lab. For two days, 11 Computer Science teachers of Yekaterinburg studied currently existing computer threats, statistics and prospects of development of this area.
