Moscow ORT Technology School develops social entrepreneurship

November, 20th at Moscow ORT Technology School (Gymnasium #1540) a round table on "Social entrepreneurship and help to the disabled people: what can you do here and now?" was held.

The event was organized in the framework of the Global Entrepreneurship Week held in Moscow in the period from the 17th to the 23rd of November, one of the key themes of which was social entrepreneurship.

Global Entrepreneurship Week in Moscow was organized by the Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of Moscow.

The round table at the Moscow ORT Technology School (Gymnasium #1540) was attended by over 160 people: students of the 8th -11th grades, teachers and tutors of the schools and universities, collaborating with the School, as well as invited guests.

At the beginning of the event the audience was greeted by Viktor Kalinin, Executive Secretary of the Joint Expert Council of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy and Entrepreneurship, and the School Principal Marina Moiseeva.

Under the theme of "Social projects in the school system and initial vocational training," Director of the ORT Resource Center Igor Pavlov presented a joint project of the School and “Preodolenie” ("Bridging") Rehabilitation Center.

Then the 10th grade student Iuliana Brusilovskaya demonstrated the constructor for visually impaired children created by her.

As an example of the successful project in the field of social entrepreneurship General Director of "Izobretal Comfort" Alexey Fomenko presented to the participants of the round table the high-tech development of the ramp.

A graduate of the Moscow ORT Technology School (Gymnasium #1540), the Federal Association of Coaches of Students of the Russian Union of Youth Sophia Shkolnik outlined the various approaches to creativity in solving problem of social entrepreneurship.

The round table participants confirmed the actuality of the problems of social entrepreneurship. Students took the projects in the field of care for people with disabilities with great interest and asked many questions. Guests and experts were pleasantly surprised by the School’s policy on involvement of children in humanitarian projects.

Achievements of Moscow ORT Technology School (Gymnasium # 1540) in this area were also highly appreciated two days ago on the meeting of working group

for improving the legislation in the field of regulation of social entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial activity.

Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, Alexander Borisov highly estimated Marina Moiseeva’s activities to engage high school students in social entrepreneurship and students’ ones, who developed applications for smartphones and mobile devices, thanks to which persons with disabilities in a rehabilitation hospital will be able to order food and meet other household needs.
